We are a small hotel with a big heart for our community, welcoming both hotel guests and conference attendees. The hotel is located in the scenic town of Arjeplog, near the Arctic Circle and midway between the Swedish and Norwegian coasts.

The hotel has 45 rooms, and a STF youth hostel is connected during the summer season.

As a kitchen staff member at Hotell Lyktan, you will work with breakfast preparation and general cooking in our kitchen. Your main responsibility will be the kitchen, but as we are a small hotel, we are all hotel staff members who, in addition to our primary duties, are willing to help out wherever needed.

This is a shared role involving breakfast responsibility and some cooking, as we offer dinners and lunches to conferences and other groups throughout the year, as well as travel groups and some catering services.

Getting up early in the morning is no problem for you. As the person responsible for breakfast and the kitchen, it is important to focus on quality, environment, and hygiene as you will be handling food. You take responsibility for your tasks and want to see results in your work.

Experience is an advantage – we value a genuine interest in food and kitchen work.

You will become an important part of the team and contribute to creating a great atmosphere among colleagues, even during stressful periods.

Weekend work and evening work occur on special occasions as well as during vacations and sick leave.

Our high season is in winter from January to March, when Arjeplog is a major part of the automotive industry's winter testing, and in summer from July to August when we receive summer tourists.

Examples of tasks:

• Cook and prepare hotel breakfast with quality ingredients
• Breakfast responsibility: replenish breakfast items and clear dishes
• Cook and prepare meals such as lunches and dinners with quality ingredients
• Ensure order and hygiene in the kitchen
• Dishwashing and cleaning of kitchen surfaces
• Category B driver's license is required as we have some catering
• You must have reading and speaking proficiency in Swedish and English
